I was first introduced to CrMS when our priest requested it as part of our marriage preparation program. I was a believer in the convenience of birth control, user of the IUD, and never really cared to understand my body. When a physician recommended removing an ovary, we followed his advice-a decision I now regret. We always trusted conventional ways of regulating fertility and did not find it necessary to look further. Skeptically, I followed my priest’s advice, removed my IUD and started charting. I was astonished with what the chart revealed and was intrigued with all the knowledge that came from charting. I began to transition my woman’s healthcare to a NaPro physician to help me organically understand my fertility, healthcare and help me care for my remaining ovary.
I also started thinking about how beneficial CrMS would be to other women, especially Hispanic women, and how important it is to learn about fertility and women’s health. This led to my Practitioner encouraging me to become a practitioner. Now, I am working towards encouraging women to embrace their fertility and natural ways of working with their body without a shameful stigma tied to it. I enjoy helping others and teaching CrMS truly helps women discover the woman they are meant to be.
